L'Orage (Suisse, Burkina Faso)
L’Orage was born in 2016 through the initiative of drummer Nelson Schaer (Erika Stucky, Duck Duck Grey Duck). Given carte blanche by the AMR, he reunited several of his comrades such as pianist Maël Godinat and guitarist Robin Girod. The sextet has since blended jazz, psychedelic rock, afrobeat and traditional African music with brio. This is what it’s like to hear jazz that rumbles.
Ganesh Geymeier was awarded one of the Prix suisse de musique 2018.
